I think this should have been my first card ever knowing all the treasures you can find in libraries. And now libraries all over the country are in jeopardy of losing funding. It's crazy - libraries are there for all people offering free books, educational services, databases, movies, programs (and so much, much more) and yet they are often placed on the expendable list when it comes to budget time. What about private drivers for our elected officials (what? they can't drive themselves anywhere anymore?) or
more studies of studies that have already been done on this road here or that byway there. Please! Where is the balance? Fix the schools, keep the libraries! Off my pedestal now, but the lack of true respect by our state leaders for everything that libraries offer to such a wide range of people makes me sad.
