Originally, the idea was this. Two sisters spending one year creating art, or at least creating, every day using only supplies that they already have, get for free, find, or receive...looking to rediscover the artistic selves they've lost somewhere along the way in all the clutter of life... But it didn't fit into life, and so now who knows what you might find?!!

#91 & # 92 the couple

There are lots of great things about owning a photography studio, but to have one that has been such since 1957 adds a few to the list, like if you want an old photo to play around with, just go rummage around through the leftover prints which are still in the darkroom. Even though it hasn't been a darkroom for over a decade. No worries. You're sure to find something. Day one, oils. Day two, pastels. If you know these people, give me a shout, you can have a copy.

  1. love these - people were so intense seeming when they had their portraits taken. Can't see this couple meeting you barefoot on the dunes near sunset so you can photograph them in the perfect light...they might b smiling tho!

  2. That's because they had to sit still for so darn long, smiling was too hard. We've got it lucky now where most of my images take place in one, one hundred twenty-fifth of a second, even the unhappiest of the lot can smile for that long!
