Originally, the idea was this. Two sisters spending one year creating art, or at least creating, every day using only supplies that they already have, get for free, find, or receive...looking to rediscover the artistic selves they've lost somewhere along the way in all the clutter of life... But it didn't fit into life, and so now who knows what you might find?!!

Hello, Dahling...

My oldest son received The BFG by Roald Dahl from my aunt in England when he was 5 years old, 22 years ago.  It quickly became his favorite book (perhaps his favorite book ever!) and I must have read it out loud to him four or five times, and he read it to himself over and over, laughing at the same bits everytime.  When his class at school studied Dahl, Stuart chose this book for his report - he read everything Dahl wrote again and again, but in his young mind I guess nothing compared to the lovable giant with the big ears and questionable vocabulary. And when his little sister was born, he waited until she was five and sat in her room and read it aloud his well loved copy to her every night at bedtime to make sure Roald Dahl was part of her life, too.

  1. You know we're big Dahl fans, it was the only thing on Adriana's list when we went to England last year, to visit the Roald Dahl Museum. We even went & visited his grave, they've got BFG footprints leading up to it, perfect!!!
This is a great card, everything a R.D. card should be... love it!
Thought of him & The Magic Finger, just yesterday as I was watching two ducks fly over head while I was walking the dog...
